Wow … this 2-day workshop, lead by Heather Keam, was extremely fun and interesting. The ABCD model is really intuitive and makes a lot of sense when designing programs with communities (notice that I didn't use the word “for communities”!).
Many non-profits from throughout the South Okanagan attended and I was most fortunate to be sitting with community leaders from Naramata, Cawston, Oliver, Osoyoos and Keremeos. We helped each other develop ideas, grapple with issues and find inspiration in the ABCD model.
I was glad to see our MLA Donegal Wilson in attendance for a full day learning the ABCD model with us. Councillor Myers Bennett of Osoyoos attended for the full two days. He joined our group for a localized session and was fully engaged.
Thanks to Kim English and the Community Foundation South Okanagan-Similkameen for hosting this workshop.
